Hello! My name is Jaclyn Korfin, but I go by Jackie. I was born and raised in southern California until I left for college to Rochester, NY. I graduated with my BS in American Sign Language-English Interpreting from Rochester Institute of Technology / National Technical Institute for the Deaf.  I graduated with an MA of Interpreting Studies at Western Oregon University in 2019. I worked as a freelance interpreter for a few years in Rochester, NY before moving home to San Diego and working a freelance position that became a full time job. I have been signing since I was a young child after meeting a friend who used the language to communicate. I fell in love with the language and continued to learn from the time I was 4 years old.

Other fun facts about me include:

• I have a second degree black belt in martial arts

• I enjoy a good game of golf, and played varsity for my high school

• I love playing card and board games (always looking for new games)

• I love photography, and showing off my photos

• I collect pins from everywhere I bring my camera, and attach them all to my camera bag

• I have attended San Diego Comic Con since 2014 plan to continue attending

• I collect pins from all the places I visit and display them in my house

• I love the snow, and snowboarding (even got engaged on a snowboarding trip!)
